While going abroad is an awesome experience, it is also undeniably expensive. Luckily, the Department of French & Italian offers scholarships to help cushion the expense. These include, for French, the Margaret J. Talle Study Abroad Scholarship and the Marguerite Guinotte Travel Grant; and, for Italian or FRIT, the French & Italian Study Abroad Scholarship. These scholarships provide between $1,500-$11,000 for study abroad.
The application for any of these three scholarships is due to the FRIT Department by 4:30 pm on March 10, 2014. Applications must include a letter of recommendation, unofficial transcript, application essay, and application form. The application essay should describe previous engagement with French and/or Italian studies, and what the scholarship would make possible for you. The application form (as well as further information) can be found here: schol announcemt & app 2014.
