Experience the collection of African works of art at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts with a guided tour in French! On Tuesday, 11/29, from 1:00-2:00pm, join fellow Alliance Française members in the appreciation of African art, history, and culture.
With artifacts as ancient as 4,500 years old, this collection displays the captivating history of Africa through its art. Some interesting displays include a false door from Ancient Egypt (2,400BCE), a unique mask from the the Luba people (one of only three in the world), and a shrine head from the Yoruba society. The guided tour through this art collection will be led by Anna Bethune, and conducted in French.
This event is restricted to Alliance Française members who speak French at a conversational level, but it will be a fascinating, informative tour about the rich history of Africa and its artwork. For more information on this opportunity, visit the Alliance Française event page.
