Alyssa Benson, the French student assistant, is a fourth year student at the University of Minnesota pursuing a double major in French and Communication Studies. She has been studying French language and culture since the eighth grade, when she first discovered her passion for French literature with The Three Musketeers. Alyssa’s other interests include tap dancing, knitting, and trying different varieties of tea. This year, Alyssa is excited to help bring French culture to campus, and to host the weekly French conversation hour.

Aarilee Lorenzen, the Italian student assistant, is passionate about promoting the Italian language and culture on campus. She will be leading the Italian conversation hour for the fall 2018 semester. Aarilee is pursuing a double major in Anthropology and English. She has been studying Italian since her first year at the University and eventually plans to either major or minor in it. Outside of class, Aarilee loves to read, play ultimate frisbee, and cook.
